At the beginning of this season, Reuell Walters was promoted to the Arsenal first team. He was present during the club’s tour to the US and more or less impressed his seniors, including Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Walters is physically quite impressive.
“I really like midfielder Reuell (Walters),” Zinchenko told Rio Ferdinand on the former Man Utd defender’s Youtube channel.
“I think the qualities he has are very enthusiastic. I swear to God, one time he pushed Gabriel Jesus down with his shoulder. It was not easy to push Gabriel down because he is very strong and he (Walters) was confident in holding the ball afterwards, kept the ball well and passed the ball.”
“Oh, I think he impressed me the most,” Zinchenko insisted.
Walters is a key member of the Arsenal U21 team. Last season, Walters was called up to the first team by Arteta and sat on the bench 9 times but was not used.
If in the rest of the summer Arsenal cannot find another quality rookie, they can use Walters more. He is a quite versatile defender who can play well as a center back and right back.
