According to Paul Parker, if he successfully recruits the rookies he wants in the summer transfer window, coach Erik Ten Hag will decide to liquidate Wout Weghorst. The former Manchester United player commented:
“I think, if Erik ten Hag gets exactly what he wants next summer, maybe he won’t want Wout Weghorst in the squad next season.”
Ten Hag could break up with Weghorst.
“But, the positive thing about Weghorst is that everyone knows what they will get from him. Weghorst’s teammates can count on him, and they know 100% what to expect from Weghorst.”
“I want to compare his personality with Mark Hughes and Steve Bruce. Three different players, but I know what I’m going to get from them. Weghorst is just that. He’s an honest player.”
“Erik ten Hag brought Weghorst into the team because he was honest. It’s not about finding 30 goals from Weghorst. Ten Hag just wants a player who always works hard on the pitch and brings honesty to this team.”
