Liverpool were deservedly beaten 1-3, with an own goal from Ibrahima Konate and a goal from Yoane Wissa putting the hosts ahead before the break. Oxlade-Chamberlain scored in the second half, but Bryan Mbeumo ended the game with the winning goal.
Liverpool are actually in danger of missing out on the top four for the first time since 2016, they are sixth in the table, four points behind Manchester United and have played more than one game.
Mane left Liverpool after many successful years.
Oxlade-Chamberlain believes his side are lacking the influence of striker Mane, who arrived at Bayern Munich last summer: “I watched Sadio and Mo [Salah] played in that position for many years and one thing they both did exceptionally well was scoring for the team.”
“It’s something I’ve missed in the last couple of games that poses a real threat on goal, so it was nice to get a chance and take it tonight – it’s a shame it just doesn’t make sense. nothing.”
