According to a report from the Daily Mail, West Ham United has hold the next round of negotiations with Juventus about midfielder Denis Zakaria. The English team considers Zakaria a possible target to fill the void left by Declan Rice.
Currently, the two sides have not come to a final agreement. In the 2022/2023 season, Zakaria plays for Chelsea on loan. Contrary to expectations, the performance of the Swiss midfielder was not enough to score points with the Blues leadership.
Zakaria returned to Juventus after the season ended. According to the Daily Mail, Juventus is ready to let the 26-year-old star leave if it receives a strong enough offer on the negotiating table. In that context, West Ham United emerged as a potential destination for Zakaria.
Basically, the star born in 1996 is considered a box-to-box midfielder. Long strides, ideal height make Zakaria the ideal anchor in the midfield. Former player Lothar Matthaus commented that Zakaria has many similarities with Toni Kroos.
The ability to tackle the ball becomes another outstanding strength in Zakaria. A deal worth considering with West Ham United.
