Vinicius has the fastest price increase
In this update, Vinicius Junior, the star winger of Real Madrid, is the biggest increase in price. His market value has increased by 30 million euros from 120 million euros in the previous update to 150 million euros this time. Vinicius is therefore also the most valuable player in La Liga at the moment, and the third most valuable player in the world.
“Vinicius is the type of player who always knows how to shine,” explains Tobias Blaseio, Transfermarkt’s regional manager for Spain. “Last season, although he was only 22 years old, he had 44 goals and assists in all competitions for Real Madrid. Vinicius’ performances in the Champions League were also impressive. He had 7 goals and 5 phases. assists in 12 Champions League matches, second only to Erling Haaland (13).
Right behind Vinicius in terms of value-added are two other young Real Madrid players, Eduardo Camavinga and Rodrygo. Camavinga’s market value has increased by 25 million euros to go from 60 million to 85 million, while Rodrygo’s value has also increased by 20 million and thanks to that he is now in the club 100 million euros. There are only 11 players with a price of 100 million euros or more, and four of them will play for Real Madrid next season. In addition to Vinicius and Rodrygo are Fede Valverde and rookie Jude Bellingham.
However, despite the three players in the top increasing the most, the value of the entire Real Madrid squad decreased by 10 million, to 871 million. The reason is that in their squad there are many players who have passed the age of 30, but according to Transfermarkt’s valuation, players over 30 are almost all discounted. Among Real players, the biggest discount is goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Compared to the previous update, his value has decreased by 15 million euros, down to 45 million.
Lewandowski’s value hits 10-year low
Robert Lewandowski won the Pichichi award for the player who scored the most goals in his first season with Barca. However, that achievement did not stop the price drop of the Polish striker. His market value is now only 30 million euros, 10 million less than last time. The main reason is age; Lewandowski is 34 years old this year. However, there are also professional reasons.
Mr. Blaseio assessed that Lewandowski did not perform well in the Champions League, especially in matches with his old team Bayern, and “had many times disappeared the whole game”. 30 million euros is also the lowest market value of Lewandowski in the past 10 years. However, he is still the world’s second most valuable player among people aged 32 and over, second only to Lionel Messi.
But in contrast to Real Madrid, although the value of one of the brightest stars has decreased, the value of Barca’s total squad has increased, adding 32 million euros to 799. That is thanks to a series of their players. increased sharply, typically Frenkie de Jong (+15 million to 75 million), Raphinha (+10, to 60), Alejandro Balde (+20, to 50) and Andreas Christensen (+10, to 40).
Many young stars increase prices
As usual, the two giants of La Liga are still the ones who occupy the wave. But somewhere in the remaining teams, there are young players who are also worth mentioning after the strong price increase. One of them is Takefusa Kubo. The Japanese player had a great season with Real Sociedad, contributing a total of 16 goals and making a big contribution to helping La Real win tickets to the Champions League. Not surprisingly, his value increased by 10 million euros, to 25 million.
Similar is Villarreal’s 21-year-old striker Nicolas Jackson. After suffering an injury that prevented him from making it to the Premier League, Jackson had a spectacular sprint in the final leg, scoring 10 goals since April. Nicolas Jackson’s value thus doubled, from 15 to 30 million. Most likely, he will leave Villarreal to move to a bigger team this summer. In Jackson’s contract there is a release clause of only 30 million euros, too cheap for a player of his value.
How does Transfermarkt calculate the value of players?
As explained on the Transfermarkt homepage itself, the value of each player is the result of many factors. One of the most important factors is the Transfermarkt community; there members will discuss and value each player in detail. Age and contract length are also factors to consider. To be clear, a player’s market value may have nothing to do with their transfer price.
