Donny Van de Beek was once a promising signing for Manchester United after impressive performances at Ajax. However, things did not go as expected.
The Dutch star played lacklusterly throughout his time at Old Trafford. Even when Erik ten Hag arrived, he could not help revive his former student.
Van de Beek is no longer part of Ten Hag’s plans.
At the present time, Van de Beek seems to have been eliminated from Man Utd’s plans. Since the beginning of the season, he has only had a mere 21 minutes on the field (according to Transfermarkt) and therefore, there is a high possibility that the former Ajax star will have to leave in the January transfer window to seek development opportunities.
According to Fichajes, Van de Beek is currently receiving interest from Real Sociedad. The La Liga team needs to increase depth in the midfield to maintain its position in the domestic arena and advance in the Champions League.
They believe that, in the context that the 26-year-old player no longer has a place in the Man Utd squad, this deal can be closed at a reasonable fee.
