Young told the media: “We’re both grown men and we don’t always understand each other’s point of view. And unfortunately, the private chat was made public. But rest assured, I will just focus on basketball and focus on helping my team win. And that’s what I have to focus on.”
According to Athletic, Trae Young wants to be treated for a shoulder injury instead of participating in the match against the Denver Nuggets, while coach McMillan wants the opposite. Then the 58-year-old coach gave Young two options that he could come on from the bench or sit out the whole game. In the end, the 24-year-old chose the second option.

Coach McMillan has resolved the disagreement with Trae Young
Coach McMillan clarified the issue: “Trae Young is a very enthusiastic player. He understands that we both want the team to win. We will not let misunderstandings affect the whole team. Although he is only 24 years old, he is very talented. We will continue to strive to make Trae’s dream come true. There is one thing that I want everyone to know. I have never and will never say to a player not to be in a game.”
