Having been teammates at Liverpool from 2007 to 2009, both were smiling before the game. But it turned into a tense match in the last minutes, with Real Madrid U19s winning 4-2 on aggregate after the two teams drew 2-2 in the two main periods.
Torres is said to be very angry with Real Madrid U19’s second goal and ended up shoving Arbeloa.
Torres and Aberloa collide outside the touchline
According to Relevo, Torres told his former team-mate, “I’ll cut your head off!”, prompting Arbeloa to respond with “start whenever you want”.
Arbeloa was shown a yellow card while Torres received a red card and was told to leave the touchline, which Atletico protested.
But when he was taken off the training ground, the 39-year-old strategist was insulted by Real Madrid fans and called “a clown”.
Real Madrid U19 will face Las Palmas U19 in the semi-finals and Torres could face a heavier penalty for his behaviour.
