A 4-1 victory over Chelsea recently secured a place in the Champions League next season for MU. In addition to finishing the season in the Top 4, MU also won the League Cup and entered the FA Cup final against Man City next week. In the debut season of coach Ten Hag, these are considered commendable achievements.
However, according to Bruno Fernandes’ point of view, completing a decade without winning the Premier League is a failure for MU: “We are all happy to be back in the Champions League next season but of course, that’s the thing. When we can’t win the championship anymore, the next task is of course to be in the Top 4 and we did it.”
“But, as players, we are not satisfied with just being in the Top 4. We want more, we aim higher because we believe this group has the capacity to progress. forward”.
“It’s been a positive season but not a success. Success is something else for a team like MU. We want to win and have the trophy, we even have the FA Cup final in front of us. But whatever the outcome of that game won’t change my view of the season.”
