Lukaku joined Roma on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea at the end of August. The Belgian has struggled for consistency over the past two seasons. He only scored 15 goals for Chelsea in the 2021/2022 season and 14 times for Inter on loan last season.
But Mourinho explained how to make the best use of Lukaku’s abilities after Roma’s recent 7-0 win over Empoli.
Lukaku just arrived in Rome this summer.
He also joked that Inter Milan had “no reason to be angry” with Lukaku after failing to buy him back in the summer.
Mourinho told DAZN: “I see him happy, Romelu needs to be happy, to feel loved and trusted. He came here and immediately felt that the team needed a player like him.
