The recent match between Getafe and Real Madrid was the first time Mason Greenwood faced Jude Bellingham since they moved to Spain last summer.
Bellingham, who has made an instant impression in Spain following his £90m move from Borussia Dortmund, made a tackle on Greenwood near the touchline. After this moment of dispute, the Real rookie was caught saying a two-syllable word towards Greenwood. Fans believe that the star born in 2003 uttered the word ‘rapist’.
Although it is unclear what Bellingham phrase came from the video, expert witness and lip-reading expert Jeremy Freeman was able to determine with almost certainty that the former Dortmund player had insulted Greenwood.
Sharing on Daily Mail, Freeman expressed:
“After carefully analyzing the clip, I am 97% sure that it is the phrase ‘rapist’, especially when considering the context in which the phrase was uttered. The mouthpiece shows the presence of ‘R’ and ‘P’ sounds”.
“In addition, the speaker appears to have a distinct Brummie accent, which I have taken into account in my interpretation. Given the clarity of these visual cues and the absence of any viable alternative interpretation Anyway, I’m pretty sure of my conclusion.”
