Discussing the reason for the delay in the Ryan Gravenberch deal, journalist Neil Jones said:
“The reason the Ryan Gravenberch deal took so long was because for most of the summer transfer window, Bayern Munich does not want to sell this player. That only changed in the final days of the transfer window, and by then, Liverpool was ready to act.”

Gravenberch has arrived at Anfield.
“Liverpool has liked this player for a long time, since his time at Ajax. Gravenberch has had a difficult 12 months since joining Bayern, and the reality is that Liverpool have been very persistent, making a clear and convincing offer. Liverpool is ready to support Gravenberch in a way that Bayern has never done.”
“What Gravenberch brings is a combination of technical and physical quality, as well as really huge potential. Liverpool currently has many versatile midfielders, many players who can do everything, and I expect Gravenberch will be suitable for this team.”
