The 16-year-old has signed his first professional contract with the La Liga giants after impressing for the club’s B team.
Reyes said: “It is a very special moment for me. I signed my first professional contract with Real Madrid and I want to thank the club for the trust and my family for their daily support. I will continue to work and try my best to go far.”
Reyes joined the Real Madrid academy in 2019. Reyes and the Spain team finished fourth at the European U17 Championship in May after losing to France in the semi-finals.
Reyes’ father, Jose Antonio, died in a car crash at the age of 35 in 2019. The former Spain star was killed along with his 23-year-old cousin while another man was injured. severely burned when the car they were traveling in overturned and caught fire.
Spanish media reported at the time that the former Arsenal star was on his way home with his wife and three children after training. Spanish police said they believe Reyes was driving his Mercedes Brabus S550V at 120 mph – exceeding the speed limit.
