Joselu and Yamal met during the Spanish national team’s reunion, when Barca’s new star was having a breakthrough with La Roja this season. Both are part of the squad that coach Luis de la Fuente has called up for this month’s matches.
Joselu heaped praise on Yamal, saying that Barcelona’s teenage prodigy could be Spain’s mainstay in the future.
Yamal is famous at Barca.
Joselu said in the interview: “We have to take care of Yamal a lot, he is the precious gem of our country and we have to support him a lot, help him every day.”
“He’s a great guy and what we do here is support him because I think he will become part of the national team.”
The striker also commented on Barcelona’s recent form: “Barca tried to control the ball at the beginning of the season, but in recent matches they have had a lot of difficulty.”
