Up to 9 players are currently sidelined due to injury at Barcelona, with Ferran Torres being the latest victim after suffering a hamstring problem in the match against Osasuna. With matches coming thick and fast, Xavi was forced to call up more and more young talents from the academy.
Recently, Barcelona coach called young winger Dani Rodriguez to train with the first team ahead of the La Liga clash with Alaves. Rodriguez, 18, is a versatile winger who can play on both wings or through the middle as an attacking midfielder.
Notably, the teenage winger has 3 goals and 3 assists in 6 matches in the UEFA Youth League this season. Dani Rodriguez was also called up to practice with the first team in the past.
In addition to Dani Rodriguez, Xavi has also called up a number of other young faces, including Barca Atletic’s top scorer this season, Pau Victor, who has also participated in first team training sessions quite a few times.
