Inter Milan’s victory became less fun when Pavard’s injury appeared. The France international was forced off the field with a knee injury during Inter’s 2-1 win over Atalanta on Saturday.
Several sources in Italy, including La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia, confirmed that Pavard suffered a dislocated kneecap in his left leg, following medical tests carried out on Monday morning.
Gazzetta announced the 27-year-old will have to wear a knee brace for a month, but he at risk of having to miss two months of competition. This means he cannot return to the Nerazzurri before January 2024. According to reports, Pavard will begin recovery in 3 or 4 weeks but his injury is not serious enough to require surgery.
Pavard joined Inter from Bayern Munich in a contract worth 30 million euros last summer and has played nine matches for the Nerazzurri this season. His contract at Stadio Meazza will expire in June 2028.
Inter released an official statement after Pavard’s medical examination.
“Benjamin Pavard underwent a medical examination at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano this morning. Tests determined that he had dislocated his kneecap.
“The French defender will have to wear a knee brace for three-quarters of a week before starting his recovery process.”
