Nuno Espirito Santo has been sacked by Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad. Al Ittihad have won just six of their 12 matches this season and the most recent was a 2-0 AFC Champions League loss to Al Jawiya on Monday. Many reports say that conflicts have flared up between players and coaches.
Revelo reports that Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema and Nuno exchanged insults in the dressing room after the embarrassing defeat to Al Jawiya.

Santo just kept getting fired.
In a statement on X, Al-Ittihad said: “The club has announced the termination of the contract with Portuguese coach Nuno Santo. This decision was made after a comprehensive assessment of the past period when he was in charge of coaching the first team.”
Nuno has been in charge of Al Ittihad since July 2022, taking the job eight months after being sacked by Tottenham. In a total of 56 matches leading the Saudi Arabian club, he lost only 8 matches. Reports also suggest that Al Ittihad could bring in a French coach to appease Benzema, with Laurent Blanc among the candidates.
