The potential of the Fletcher brothers Man United’s young players are regularly called up to practice with the first team, especially in training sessions after each match. Jack Fletcher, just 16 years old, has participated in many training sessions this season. He arrived at Man United in the summer after being signed from Man City along with his twin brother Tyler Fletcher.
Darren Fletcher’s sons have been with the Man City academy for nine years but chose to move to Man United and the club had to pay a fee of £1.25 million to sign them. Both are highly rated. Scouts in Manchester believe they have the potential to break into the first team.
Mount is backMason Mount has not played since suffering a calf injury in the 1-0 draw against Luton Town on November 11, but he returned to light training on Wednesday and is close to returning to action.
Mount looked quite cheerful as he was photographed training in the rain at Carrington. Although the midfielder’s first 6 months at Old Trafford were not very smooth, especially when he suffered two separate injuries, he has more than enough talent and bravery to prove his value. Once fit, he will be included in the starting lineup. It should also be remembered that Mount needs time to adapt to the role of a deep-lying midfielder, which is not his forte.
Amad will be given a chance
Amad was on loan at Sunderland last season and had great performances. He contributed 14 goals and 4 assists to the Northeast team. Unfortunately, Amad suffered a knee injury before the season. The 21-year-old has not been able to play since then, but has been training fully for more than two weeks. He can absolutely be in the squad to play against Nottingham Forest this weekend.
Options on the right wing at Old Trafford are limited and with Amad, Ten Hag will have more options.
Forson is about to sign a new contractOmari Forson’s contract with Man United will expire at the end of the season. The Manchester Evening News revealed last month that he is set to sign a new deal with the Red Devils, as a reward for his progress.
Forson has not yet debuted for the first team but Man United believes he will be the next young player to do so.
A group of promising young players
Sam Mather is a member of the Man United youth team that won the 2021/22 FA Youth Cup. In it, he played a key role alongside Alejandro Garnacho, Charlie McNeill, Kobbie Mainoo and Dan Gore.
All four of those players have improved to make their first team debuts, while injuries forced Mather to wait to take the next step in his career. It is important to know that this 19-year-old midfielder started in all 6 matches at the Youth Cup that season, contributing 3 goals and 2 assists.
