Discussing the developments in the Arsenal – Ivan Toney deal, journalist Dean Jones said:
“There continues to be a lot of noise surrounding Ivan Toney potentially joining Arsenal, but as far as I know, the situation is that no decision has been made yet on Arsenal signing a striker. So it’s reasonable to expect them Signing a striker for about 80 million pounds is really far-fetched.”
Toney is still far away from Arsenal.
“Toney is obviously in favor of that move, he is talking about Arsenal in a very positive way, and I don’t blame him for wanting to join such a club. But, the transfer fee is huge , and Arsenal are also having to consider whether they need a backup plan for Bukayo Saka in the second half of the season.”
“So, this is a very complicated situation, and we haven’t even considered that breaking the bank for Toney in January will have a serious impact on Arsenal’s budget next summer. I’m not saying that They cannot sign him, because there has been a certain level of interest for a long time, but, I would just call for some caution because this is a very important move.”
