Mr. Newin Chidchob, president of Buriram United club, agreed to sell Supachok outright to Consadole Sapporo. Under the contract, the Thai attacking midfielder will stay with Consadole Sapporo until the end of 2027.
Supachok joined Consadole Sapporo in July. He has yet to start a match in the J1 League and has made seven appearances from the bench. Despite only playing a total of 93 minutes, Supachok had a good performance and scored 3 assists. Thanks to that, he was signed a long-term contract by Consadole Sapporo.
Supachok is also making similar strides as Chanathip. Consadole Sapporo is the first stop of “Messi Jay” in Japan, after parting with Muangthong United. Here, Chanathip affirmed his value, having entered the J1 League’s best team of the 2018 season and was the first Southeast Asian player to do this. From the Consadole Sapporo launch pad, Chanathip joins Kawasaki Frontale, the 2021 champion and runner-up of the 2022 J1 League.
Signing a contract with Consadole Sapporo also shows that Supachok is being valued and appreciated. Therefore, this team refused to let the midfielder born in 1998 return to play in the AFF Cup 2022, a non-FIFA Days tournament.
This will be a heavy loss for the Thai team. At the AFF Cup 2020, the “War Elephants” tournament was the champion, and Supachok also contributed a lot thanks to his ability to break through and stir up the opponent’s defense. This striker scored 3 goals, one goal behind Chanathip.
In addition to Supachok, the other two Thai players who are playing in Japan, Chanathip (Kawasaki Frontale) and Chaowat Veerachat (Cerezo Osaka) also do not attend the AFF Cup 2022.
