According to confirmation from Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United can indeed activate the option to extend Victor Lindelof’s contract for another year, and they are currently discussing this issue. Notably, Romano affirmed that coach Erik Ten Hag rates Lindelof very highly and has never planned to let him leave Old Trafford.
The Italian journalist said:
“Yes, there is a clause for Manchester United to extend the contract for another year. So, certainly they will consider that decision, and they have also discussed the Lindelof situation internally.”

Ten Hag is determined to keep Lindelof.
“For Lindelof, there was a possibility of him leaving in the transfer window last January, with interest from Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid. But, the answer from Erik ten Hag was always no,’This player must stay at Man United and he is an important player for us’. Ten Hag is a big fan of Lindelof.”
For his part, Lindelof also recently opened up about the possibility of continuing to stick with Man Utd.
