Anthony Martial has only scored one goal so far this season. That goal came against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.
Rasmus Hojlund’s three goals so far have all come in the Champions League, with the Danish player scoring twice in a 2-3 defeat to Galatasaray. That achievement was enough to help Hojlund win Erik ten Hag’s trust. Therefore, he is expected to become a close pair with Marcus Rashford in the Manchester United attack.
Ten Hag has another idea. Besides thinking about using Rashford, the Dutch coach can also put Martial on the left wing. Therefore, the former Ajax captain also expects Hojlund and Martial to play together, quoted from Metro:
“Hojlund and Martial can start together because Martial is also ready to play on the left wing“.
This option has not been applied much because Hojlund and Rashford are given priority. However, Ten Hag can make adjustments to refresh the look of the Red Devils’ attack.
