President Joan Laporta confirmed that Barcelona will soon hold a press conference to explain the alleged payment of more than 1.4 million euros over three seasons to former Vice President of the La Liga refereeing committee Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira. At the same time, Laporta also criticized La Liga President Javier Tebas for always targeting Barca.
Marca quotes Laporta as saying:
“As soon as possible, we will hold a press conference to explain the information we have at the club. An internal investigation is underway. It won’t be too late, I believe. We want an explanation.”

Laporta spoke up.
“I would also like to say that Mr. Tebas is back at the top. Some people have warned us that Tebas seems is running a campaign against me and Barca.”
“I remember him as someone who had always shown hatred towards Barca during his career. Back in 2005, Tebas didn’t want Messi to play for Barca. He did not forgive us for not signing the agreement with CVC.”
