According to sources from Foot Mercato, the Brazilian club Botafogo is preparing to submit an offer for Olympique Marseille striker Luis Henrique when the winter transfer market opens.
In fact, Henrique is still playing for Botafogo on loan from Marseille for the past 18 months and the Brazilian club wants to buy the striker permanently for about 6 million euros plus bonuses.
The 22-year-old striker joined Marseille from Tres Passos in 2020 for 8 million euros after an impressive season on loan at Botafogo. However, Henrique had difficulty showing his potential at Stade Velodrome with a disappointing record of only 1 goal during his 2 seasons in France.
In addition to Botafogo, another club in Brazil, Red Bull Bragantino, also wants to bring Henrique back to his homeland to play. However, this club only wants to borrow Henrique, so Botafogo becomes the brightest candidate to get the signature of the player on Marseille’s payroll.
