Tam Dinh (Dinh Thanh Tam) is the highest scorer in the history of the Vietnam professional basketball tournament (VBA). After 7 years of playing, this Vietnamese-born player owns most of the most successful individual and collective titles such as the 2018 VBA championship, the Vietnamese-born athlete of the year 2017, the best athlete title in 2019. The most favorite athlete VBA 2019… Tam Dinh is also one of the key faces of the Vietnamese basketball team who participated in the last 3 SEA Games and made history with 2 bronze medals at SEA Games 30 (ball) basket 3×3 and 5×5) and 1 silver at SEA Games 31 (3×3 basketball).
Tam Dinh has an impressive 2022 VBA season with Hanoi Buffaloes
At VBA 2022, Tam Dinh was honored to be the first scorer. The 7th season of the Vietnam professional basketball tournament is also the first time since 2 years of being affected by Covid-19, VBA has welcomed the audience to the field to watch. Not only are fans excited because they can cheer directly, Tam Dinh is also excited after 2 years of VBA having to organize a concentrated, closed, and no audience.
“It feels great to be back with VBA and the fans. Being cheered on helps me and my Hanoi Buffaloes play differently. Last year at VBA Bubble, all I could hear was the sound of shoes on the court and the screams of my opponents. And now, when we hear the cheers of the fans, we are really uplifted”, Tam Dinh recounted his feelings when playing at Hoang Mai Gymnasium – Hanoi Buffaloes’ home ground.

VBA 2022 is Tam Dinh’s first season with the capital team. The thrower born in 1990 is one of the key points to help Hanoi Buffaloes reach the top 4 teams in the semi-finals. In the knockout series, Tam Dinh also shined to help “Capital Buffalo” beat Nha Trang Dolphins with a score of 2-0. Although they could not overcome Saigon Heat to win the championship, Tam Dinh and his teammates can still be proud of the achievement of bringing Hanoi’s representative back to the VBA final for the first time since the 2018 season.
With her marks, at the VBA Awards 2022, Tam Dinh received 2 nominations for Vietnamese-born athlete of the year and most favorite athlete. The veteran pitcher of the Vietnamese basketball team now takes a good role in leadership, imparting experience and connecting teammates on the field.
