In the opinion of Gabriel Agbonlahor, Kai Havertz really cannot play well in the central midfield role, and coach Mikel Arteta should have created conditions for Emile Smith Rowe to play instead of the former Chelsea star. At the same time, Agbonlahor also advised Smith Rowe to leave to find opportunities to play regularly.
The former English striker commented:
“I think, if the coach knew what he was doing, Smith Rowe would have had more opportunities. Havertz doesn’t play in that role, it’s not going to work out.”

Agbonlahor was disgruntled on behalf of Smith Rowe.
“Smith Rowe must be angry watching Havertz play. At 23 years old Smith Rowe, you want to be in the England team and go to the EURO. But that’s not going to happen because Smith Rowe doesn’t have game time.”
“He must be very frustrated. Look at Cole Palmer, now he’s going to have a lot more playing time.”
“I think that’s something Smith Rowe should promote more. You need to get playing time at 23, not sit on the bench.”
