AS reported that PSG’s management was satisfied with Ramos’ contribution and will give him more opportunities to show off in the 2023/24 season. The former Real Madrid star is a rare bright spot of the Ligue 1 club in two matches against Bayern Munich in the round of 16 of the Champions League this season. The current contract of the former Real star and the Paris capital team will expire in June.
Earlier, L’Equipe said that Ramos’ future was in big question when PSG had to stop playing early in the Champions League this season. The former Real star and Lionel Messi are said to have to part with PSG so that the Parisian team can reduce the salary fund before the new season, to avoid violating UEFA’s Financial Fair Play Law. Many sources say Ramos receives 6 million euros per season at PSG after taxes.
Ramos has 22 appearances in Ligue 1 in the 2022/23 season. In the Champions League front, the Spaniard played all 8 matches. In January, Marca reported that Al Nassr wanted to reunite Ramos with Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League. However, there have been no negotiations between the two sides.
Similar to Ramos, PSG also prioritized keeping Messi. On March 17, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said that the Argentine superstar received an offer to extend the contract of the Ligue 1 club. However, M10 was not in a hurry to sign again because he wanted to consider PSG’s ambitions in Paris. 2023/24 season.
A few faces that could leave PSG this summer include Carlos Soler, Renato Sanches, Fabian Ruiz or Juan Bernat. In addition, the group of players on loan such as Gini Wijnaldum, Keylor Navas and Leandro Paredes are also not part of PSG’s plans next season.
