Coach Shin Tae-yong wants Indonesia to meet strong teams on the FIFA rankings.
“I ask for help. Hope the friendly match between Indonesia and Argentina can happen. Don’t just talk,” coach Shin Tae-yong told the press on March 20 at PTIK Stadium (Jakarta).
Last week, PSSI Vice President Zainudin Amali said that they are contacting a number of football federations to find opponents for the Indonesian team to play friendly games, including Argentina, which has just won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Recently, PSSI President Erick Thohir revealed: “We have negotiated with 3-4 football federations. Besides Palestine, there will be other teams to play friendly but I can’t disclose at this time because no agreement has been reached.”
Meanwhile, coach Shin Tae-yong expressed dissatisfaction when the Indonesian team was about to play two friendly matches against Burundi this month. The Burundi team is not the team that coach Shin Tae-yong wants his students to face during FIFA Days because the African team ranks 141st in the FIFA rankings. “Regarding the Burundi national team, to be honest I don’t know what kind of team they are. Tomorrow we will analyze our competitors.
