On Christmas Day, on his personal page, Salah posted a photo capturing the moment his whole family gathered around the tree with the caption: “Merry Christmas”. This action is controversial when the Liverpool star is a Muslim.
“I have been a Liverpool fan since I was a child but I will stop supporting the club because you are celebrating Christmas like a Christian. You have just lost a fan. Goodbye Salah.” shared by a fan.
“I have seen him as a great player and you have always inspired me. However, after this post, I can no longer see him as my role model,” another fan wrote.
Many people also claim to unfollow Salah if he does not delete that post.

The post caused Salah to be criticized.
However, many other fans also sent words of encouragement and support for Salah. They wish the Egyptian striker a Merry Christmas with his family. One fan wrote: “For us you are Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe combined. Enjoy.”
Salah is with Liverpool preparing for the return of the Premier League. Most likely he will be the main kick in the match between Liverpool and Aston Villa, taking place at 0:30 on December 27 (Hanoi time).
In the 2022/23 season, Salah is still the leader of Liverpool. He has 14 goals, 3 assists in all competitions.
