Salah is the best footballer from Egypt, having won every trophy possible with Liverpool over the last 5 years. Salah’s brilliant goalscoring form puts him on the list of the best players in the world, but the 30-year-old’s statistics with Egypt have not convinced Shehata.
Shehata, who led Egypt to three consecutive African Cup of Nations (AFCON) titles and resigned months before Salah’s debut, thinks the striker should have done more.

Salah repeatedly failed with Egypt this year.
Speaking to Egypt Independent, Shehata said: “Basically, and I’m sorry to say this, but Mohamed Salah has done nothing for the national team. He should have done much better than that. He has to give more when he plays for his country.”
The legend added: “He should have said this to the officials here. Although he is not the one to choose the players, he should have said that the players here are not like the others. The players are in England. So the coaches have to find a way to open the space for Salah. We have to find the players to make him appear on the pitch.”
