After 3 years of hiatus due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the 2023 Southeast Asian professional basketball tournament (ASEAN Basketball League 2023 Invitational – ABL 2023 Invitational) will return in early January. Contributing to this ABL 2023 Invitational are 8 teams including Saigon Heat (Vietnam), Bangkok Tigers (Thailand), NS Matrix (Malaysia), Singapore Slingers (Singapore), Zamboanga Valientes (Philippines), Hong Kong Eastern (Hong Kong). ABL 2023 Invitational is expected to take place within 2 months. The group stage consists of 4 stages, organized to compete in different cities. Each team will play 2 matches against the remaining teams. The 4 best teams will advance to the semi-finals and play in the 5th stage.
Saigon Heat is the only representative of Vietnamese basketball to attend ABL 2023 and will play the first stage at the OCBC Arena (Singapore). In the first leg, Saigon Heat has 2 matches taking place on 3 – 4 and 6 – 7.

The schedule for the second stage has not been announced yet, but it will most likely be held from January 12 to the Lunar New Year of 2023. After the end of the first stage, the whole team will be on their way to the next city. to continue competing here before returning to Vietnam to celebrate Tet with family.
Saigon Heat is Vietnam’s first professional basketball team and has won the VBA championship 3 times in a row (2019, 2020, 2022). In previous seasons of ABL, Saigon Heat’s best achievement was reaching the semi-finals.
