The Portuguese midfielder only joined Saudi Arabian team Al Hilal during the last summer transfer window. He is also heavily linked with the home team of St. James’ Park, but the Magpies chose to sign Tonali for a fee of £55 million from AC Milan.
Now, Newcastle wants to loan Neves until the beginning of next season. It should be remembered that Newcastle’s owner, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), has taken ownership of the top 4 clubs of the Saudi Pro League including Al Nassr, Al Ittihad, Al Hila, Al Ahli.
Meanwhile, Turkish newspaper Fotomac said coach Howe wants to sign former Man United midfielder Fred in January. This newspaper confirms The Toon consider the Brazilian star a potential replacement for Tonali, alongside Kalvin Phillips and Neves. However, Fred has been an important player for Fenerbahçe this season and it is not easy for Newcastle to fulfill their wishes.
