Parting ways with DC United, Wayne Rooney soon found a new destination when he sat in the hot seat of Birmingham City with a 3 and a half year contract.
The new coach of Birmingham soon began the process of upgrading the squad, with the top target being Jack Butland – former Manchester United goalkeeper.

Rooney is ready to send a “shocking” offer for Butland.
It is known that Birmingham missed out on Butland during the summer transfer window, when he moved to Rangers on a four-year contract, after his contract with Crystal Palace was not renewed.
Rangers are said to have no intention of selling Butland, as the 30-year-old goalkeeper is having a very impressive performance, keeping 5 clean sheets in 8 appearances, after replacing Allan McGregor. Butland is also said to have settled in well in Glasgow and is one of the club’s highest earners.
Therefore, according to Teamtalk, Rooney emphasized the Board of Directors will make a “shocking offer” to attract Butland to St Andrew’s.
On the other hand, Rooney is said to have invited Ashley Cole and John O’Shea to join the new coaching staff. Cole once played with Rooney in the England team, while O’Shea is a former teammate at Man United.
As planned, Rooney will mark his Birmingham debut in the match against Middlesbrough this weekend.
