Ronaldo doesn’t come to the Middle East just to play football.
“The deal with Ronaldo is not limited to football”, Goal quoted Mr. Musalli Al-Muammar. “He will support the club’s Academy that we plan to build, and at the same time add to the history and reputation of the club.”
Al Nassr’s chairman added: “The deal is beneficial for us commercially and profitably. In the next few days you will know the details of the contract.”
Also at the press conference to launch the new team on the evening of January 3, Ronaldo admitted: “Many teams in Europe, Brazil, the US and Portugal wanted to sign me, but I fulfilled my promise to Al Nassr. I know what I need to do. I’m here to help the club not only in football but in many other areas.”
Saudi Arabia’s football marked a historic milestone when it successfully recruited one of the superstars of the football village. Recruiting CR7 seems to be just the first step in the ambition to upgrade the squad of the home club Mrsool Park. They want to acquire many other big players, similar to the case of Ronaldo.
At the new club, the superstar born in 1985 received a salary of about 65 million euros per season (equivalent to 75 million USD), a record in the history of world football. Ronaldo’s total annual income can be up to 200 million euros thanks to sponsorship contracts and brand representation for Al Nassr or Saudi Arabian football.
Daily Mail revealed that the Portuguese star will be ready for the match between Al Nassr and Al Taee in the Saudi Pro League on Thursday this week (January 5).
