Ronaldo is said to be preparing negotiations with MU and does not accept the new offer of the “Red Devils”. He missed MU’s pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia for “family reasons”.
Ronaldo will return to Manchester to ask to leave MU
CR7 wants to leave the Old Trafford team so that he can continue to play in the Champions League after MU ranked 6th in the Premier League last season, so he did not have a ticket to the top European tournament. The Portuguese superstar has never played in the Europa League in his career.
MU insists Ronaldo is not for sale while coach Ten Hag has kept the striker’s intention to be an important part of his plans next season. The Dutchman will try to convince Ronaldo, who returned to MU from Juventus in August last year on a two-year contract with the option of a one-year extension.
MU is ready to accept a loan deal next season so that Ronaldo can play in Europe’s top league, with Atletico Madrid being the latest club to be contacted. But Ct7’s departure will only be accepted on the condition that he commits to a one-year extension, which means he will still be a player of the “Red Devils” when he turns 39.

Ronaldo and coach Ten Hag spoke at the end of last season but have yet to communicate since the five-time Ballon d’Or winner wants to leave this summer. Contact between the two sides has been maintained by MU executive director, Richard Arnold and Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes. The 37-year-old Portuguese forward has been linked with Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Atletico and Napoli but no deal has come to fruition yet.
Ronaldo (centre) still wants to leave MU
Coach Ten Hag’s squad returned to practice on July 26 after a long flight back from Perth (Australia) at the weekend. Ronaldo, who was MU’s top scorer with 24 goals in all competitions last season, is training to maintain his form in Lisbon (Portugal).
United have won three of their four games on the tour with the only 2-2 draw with Aston Villa last weekend. Ten Hag’s side will meet Atletico in Oslo (Norway) this weekend, followed by Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford 24 hours later. The “Red Devils” opened the new Premier League season against Brighton on August 7.
