Capello commented on a number of players after the 2022 World Cup. When asked if Lionel Messi was on par with Napoli legend Diego Maradona after Argentina’s World Cup win, he said: “For me, he’s were on the same level even before the World Cup. Pele, Messi and Maradona did things that others couldn’t even imagine.”
Like many others, Capello was not impressed with the actions of goalkeeper Emiliano MartÃnez during the award ceremony and criticized the Argentine player as stupid.
Ronaldo considered but could not win the World Cup in his career as a player.
Capello also said of CR7, who is without a club after leaving the Red Devils: “Ronaldo has taken it upon himself and after what he has done in his career, it’s a shame.”
“As a player, there’s no doubt about him, but he’s arrogant. He gave his all but couldn’t find any clubs that believed in him; He’s become a bit cumbersome for a team.”
