Kylian Mbappe is said to have had a verbal agreement to join Real Madrid last season. The striker had previously hinted at a move to the Spanish capital after an interview suggested he was open to leaving France.
However, that move did not materialize as Mbappe committed his future to the French capital. The 24-year-old star signed a new three-year deal in Paris last May, although the final year of that contract is an extension dependent on the player.
Mbappe looks set to leave Paris Saint-Germain next year.
That development comes less than a year after the French club turned down a world-record transfer offer from Los Blancos to Mbappe, whose contract had previously expired at the Parc des Princes last June. . If they do not agree to activate the one-year option to renew their contract, the 2018 World Cup champion will be out of contract next summer.
