Along with strengthening the squad in the winter transfer window, Bayern Munich also needs to retain its key players. Christoph Freund still has a lot of work to do in the coming months to extend his contract with important positions in the team.
There has been a lot of speculation regarding Alphonso Davies since the start of the season. The Canadian full-back is attracting interest from Real Madrid. However, Die Roten have taken the first steps to ensure Davies stays in Munich.

Davies is of interest to Real.
According to Bild’s Tobian Altschaffl and Christian Falk, Bayern has reopened negotiations with Alphonso Davies on a contract extension. The player’s representative, Nedal Huoseh, had a conversation with Freund. Rekordmeister is determined to keep Davies beyond his current contract which expires in 2025.
Hasan Salihamidzic is said to have agreed the terms of a new contract with Davies earlier this year. However, Salihamidzic’s sacking at the end of last season meant renegotiations were needed to keep the 23-year-old full-back.
Real Madrid have been continuously linked with Alphonso Davies over the past 12 months. They need a left back and Davies meets all the requirements for this position. Previously, several reports had revealed that Davies’ agent had been in contact with Real Madrid, but he recently denied that Davies was close to joining the Spanish club.
