French media said that before the second leg at the Bernabeu took place, some PSG players had booked a hotel room in Madrid (Spain) to visit and have fun. Most of them believe in the home team’s chances of winning. When PSG lost to Real 1-3, this plan remained the same. However, President Al-Khelaifi was angry and asked all players to get on a plane back to Paris that night. Poor players are said to receive disciplinary action from the leadership.
Before that, President Al-Khelaifi also left a bad image at the Bernabeu. After the match ended, he went to the referee to question him but went to the room of Mejia Davila, a Real official. When he saw a Real employee using his phone to record the incident, the Qatari businessman got angry and threatened: “I will kill you”.
Al-Khelaifi’s bodyguards immediately intervened, and sports director Leonardo asked the employee to delete the video. The PSG leadership team then left in anger.
PSG fell into crisis after losing to Real. As a result, the duo Leonardo and Mauricio Pochettino had to leave, making way for Christopher Galtier and Luis Campos. However, PSG continued to be eliminated in the round of 16 of the Champions League this season after two defeats against Bayern Munich.
According to AS, the duo Galtier and Campos will continue to work at PSG until the end of the current season. Chairman Al-Khelaifi is aware that the departure of Advisor Campos may cause turmoil in the situation. With coach Galtier, Le Parisien revealed that PSG will only sack this strategist if the team loses the Ligue 1 title.
