Brentford’s Romeo Beckham Signing Announcement
“We are happy with Romeo since he joined the team,” said Brentford B coach Neil MacFarlane, “Romeo came to us after the break in Inter Miami’s season. He quickly integrated into the culture here and gradually became an important part of the team.”
Romeo used to train at Arsenal’s academy. The 20-year-old has 20 appearances for Inter Miami II in the 2022 season in the MLS Next Pro (reserves tournament – PV). Beckham’s son’s record is 2 goals and 10 assists.
“I’m very proud to be here,” Romeo told the Brentford website. “Initially, I was here for the purpose of training, maintaining my fitness base. Then the opportunity was given to the team. I asked to borrow it and I’ve never been so excited.”
Romeo plays as a forward for Inter Miami II. Inter Miami first team is based in Florida (USA) and is co-owned by his father. Beckham’s second son made his debut for the Inter Miami first team in a 4-0 friendly win over Club Universitario de Deportes in January last year. By the end of July 2022, he was picked up by coach Phil Neville in Inter Miami’s 0-6 loss to Barcelona.
After being cut by Arsenal’s academy in 2015, Romeo had time to pursue tennis and even trained with Andy Murray. However, in September 2020, Romeo joined Inter Miami, a club owned by his father. The 19-year-old is a striker and plays for the Inter Miami youth team playing in the MLS Next Pro tournament.
Romeo is the first person to follow the professional path of his famous father. Meanwhile, eldest brother Brooklyn is engaged in art. David Beckham has two more children, Cruz Beckham and Harper Seven Beckham.
