Former Barcelona midfielder Gerard Pique once thought about becoming president of the club. However, after retiring, he seemed to be thinking more seriously about this issue.
When asked when he could sit in the hot seat instead of Joan Laporta, Pique shared:
“It’s very complicated, if you consider what you gain and what you lose, you will always lose if you take on this role. But because of what the club has done for me, if I have to help them then I will. I don’t rule it out but for the time being I have no thoughts about becoming president
It’s a huge sacrifice, you have to make every decision for the benefit of the club without any financial gain or any gain for yourself. If things go wrong, that’s something no one wants to experience. Really hard. I would only look at it because of the commitment, because I feel I owe this club a lot.”
