Erik ten Hag recently criticized the England fixture after Marcus Rashford picked up an injury in the 2-0 win over Everton. Speaking after the game, Ten Hag said he was upset with the schedule for Man United to play early on Saturday after playing on Wednesday night of the same week.
Palmeiras coach Abel Ferreira criticized Ten Hag for complaining about the schedule: “Football has great things… But there are other inhumane things as well.”
“Nine games in a month! The manager of Manchester United complained that Rashford was injured due to a series of matches. I wanted to say to him: ‘For the next two months I will have nine matches a month…’. Be quiet, because you don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Ferreira is clearly annoyed that Palmeira has a worse schedule than Ten Hag is facing. But clearly this harsh criticism was unnecessary, and MU actually played more games than any other club in Europe’s top five leagues.
