Specifically, Erling Haaland received the award UEFA Player of the Year, after a stellar first season with the English club. There he won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and European Super Cup.
The 23-year-old finished his first season with City with 12 Champions League goals, four more than Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and a Premier League record of 36.
Before the Norwegian player, Karim Benzema was the closest person to win this award. Kevin De Bruyne and Lionel Messi are also candidates but Haaland is the player who stands out the most.

Similarly, City, Pep Guardiola received the UEFA Coach of the Year award. He beat Inter Milan’s Simone Inzaghi and Napoli’s Luciano Spalletti in the shortlist.
Leading Man City from the 2016/17 season, Guardiola made the most of his weak financial advantage to win the 2022/23 treble, including the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League last season.
Most recently, he and Man City defeated Sevilla on penalties in the European Super Cup match in Athens.
