Matteo Darmian joined the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2020. In his first season at Inter, the Italian international helped the club win its first Serie A championship after 11 years of waiting.
Darmian is a quite versatile defender, able to play on both wings. Even in the context of Milan Skriniar’s injury, Darmian played as a right-sided centre-back.
Darmian started every one of Inter’s knockout matches in the Champions League last season, including the Final against Manchester City. The Italian international may have reached his prime, but he is still playing well.
That’s the reason Inter’s board of directors rewarded Darmian with a new contract. The contract between the two sides will last until the summer of 2025. Darmian has made 134 appearances for Inter, this number will continue to increase in the near future.
This season, Inter is the most impressive defensive team in Serie A, conceding only 8 times. They also lost only 1 match after 18 rounds and are leading the rankings with 45 points.
