Inter Milan signed a loan contract with Lukaku last season. This summer, the Champions League runner-up wants to buy the Belgian striker outright.
At the same time, Juventus also held negotiations with Lukaku’s parent club about a possible transfer. The move shows that Lukaku wants to continue playing football in Serie A.
However, Inter decided to stop pursuing. The deal ended after Inter was extremely angry due to the news that negotiations between Lukaku and Juventus had taken place.
Meanwhile, Juve is no longer interested in Lukaku because home fans oppose this deal. With no way back to Chelsea, Lukaku chose to join AS Roma.

Lukaku has a new destination.
Chelsea home page announced: “Lukaku has completed a season-long loan deal with AS Roma.” Here, Lukaku wears shirt number 90.
According to Fabrizio Romano, this deal does not include a buyout clause. Lukaku shared: “For me, the Roma fans are amazing. I can’t wait to get started. The owners here have huge ambitions.”
Jose Mourinho worked briefly with the striker at Stamford Bridge before selling him to Everton, then bringing him to Old Trafford in 2017. The pair have a pretty good relationship.
In total, Lukaku scored 33 goals and made 11 assists in 76 appearances under Mourinho.
