Takefusa Kubo created a reputation during his time playing in La Liga. Two seasons ago, he had 17 starting matches for Mallorca. Last year, he scored 9 goals for Real Sociedad and this season he continues to be the mainstay of this team with 6 goals and 3 assists in La Liga.
It is not difficult to understand that Real Sociedad must quickly tie up the 22-year-old Japanese talent. They gave him a new contract in the context that many other big men were “flirting”.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano added: “Kubo signed a new long-term contract with Real Sociedad, the contract is valid until June 2029.”
“Important move for the club as Kubo attracted interest (from other teams) during the summer. New contract has been signed.”
During the recent Asian Cup, Kubo was also recruited. However, he did not often start, and in no match did Kubo even play the full 90 minutes. He only scored 1 goal in the 3-1 win against Bahrain and Japan could not win this tournament.
