As expected, Chelsea carried out a strong purge this summer to meet the requirements of the Financial Fair Play Act. Notably, despite parting with a series of big stars like Mason Mount, Kai Havertz or Mateo Kovacic, the Blues’ purge has not stopped so far.
Chelsea’s homepage has just announced, Baba Rahman has officially left Stamford Bridge after 8 years of working to transferred to PAOK through a long-term contract. Sources on the sidelines said, The Blues have decided to terminate Rahman’s contract and let the defender leave on a free transfer.
Having arrived at Stamford Bridge from Augsburg in the summer of 2015, Rahman is considered one of the most disastrous signings the Blues have ever signed. Costing Chelsea more than 20 million euros – a not small number at that time, Rahman ended up only having a total of 26 appearances in 8 years with Chelsea.
Need to know, PAOK is also the team that Rahman used to wear on loan in 2021.
