The 27-year-old will officially join The Seagulls on July 1, after his current contract at Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund expires at the end of this month.
Dahoud made a total of 141 appearances for Dortmund in all competitions during his six-year spell, scoring five goals and providing 17 assists. He and the yellow-black jersey team won the title of DFB-Pokal 2020-21 and DFL-Supercup 2019.
The midfielder became the first player of Syrian origin to play in the Bundesliga when he made his debut at Borussia Monchengladbach in 2014. Dahoud has two caps for Germany.
Speaking on Brighton’s official website, head coach Roberto De Zerbi said: “I am delighted to have Mahmoud in the squad. I wanted him when I was in Sassuolo And I’m sure he will be one of our top players.”
Dahoud becomes Brighton’s third signing of the summer transfer window after Joao Pedro and James Milner.
