Norwich manager Dean Smith has been sacked.
It is worth mentioning that Norwich kicked more people in this match after Luton Town player Gabriel Osho received a red card in the 81st minute, when the score was 1-1. In the 90th minute, the player who came on from the bench Cauley Woodrow of Luton Town scored a goal to make it 2-1.
Norwich sporting director Stuart Webber said of the sacking of manager Dean Smith: “This is a difficult but necessary decision to give us the best chance of achieving our goal of promotion to the Premier League this season.”
Mr. Stuart Webber emphasized: “There is only nearly half of the season left and in front of Norwich are 3 consecutive home matches. We now have a real opportunity to create positive things to move the team forward.”
Norwich used to top the table in October but now, they are 5th, only 35 points, 15 points behind the leader Burnley.
Norwich have lost 3 of the last 5 matches and this makes the club leadership lose patience with coach Dean Smith. The 51-year-old coach started his career at Walsall Club, then led teams like Brentford and Aston Villa before being appointed to the hot seat at Norwich in 2021. At Norwich, Mr. Dean Smith won 16 wins, 12 draws and lost 28 out of 56 games in charge.
Norwich’s head of development Steve Weaver and Allan Russell, the set-piece coach, will temporarily lead Norwich in the games ahead.
