The organizers of Wimbledon announced that they will donate £500,000 to support Ukraine, a country that has been in a war with neighboring Russia for more than a year. Accordingly, for each ticket sold, 1 pound will be deducted for charity. Notably, all tennis clubs in the UK will agree to provide free accommodation and practice for players from Ukraine during Wimbledon. In addition, 1,000 Ukrainian refugees were also invited to be spectators.
Ons Jabeur withdraws from Madrid Open
Female tennis player Ons Jabeur has announced that she will not participate in the Madrid Open, which she won last season. The reason Jabeur no longer has the opportunity to defend the Madrid Open championship is because she injured her left calf. This is also the reason why the world fourth player had to withdraw from the Stuttgart Open last week. While playing world No. 1 Iga Swiatek in the semi-finals, she felt there was a problem, so she gave up when she was leading 0-3.
